BTS Jin Returns from Military Service

K-pop Star Completes 18-Month Mandatory Duty

Seoul, South Korea - BTS member Jin has officially returned from his mandatory military service, concluding his 18-month stint on October 28, 2022. The singer, whose real name is Kim Seok-jin, enlisted in December 2020 as an active-duty soldier.

Jin's discharge marks a significant milestone for the popular K-pop group, which has been on hiatus since the members began fulfilling their military obligations. While the group's other members have yet to complete their service, Jin's return signals the potential for BTS to reunite sooner than anticipated.

During a press conference, Jin expressed his gratitude for the support he received during his time in the military and shared that he adjusted well to the experience. "I did my best to serve diligently and fulfill my duties," he said.

The K-pop industry has celebrated Jin's return on social media, with fans expressing their joy and anticipation for BTS's eventual reunion. The group's hiatus is expected to end in 2025 when the youngest member, Jungkook, completes his military service.
