Boston Celtics Dominate Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of NBA Finals

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown Lead the Charge for Celtics

The Boston Celtics are off to a strong start in their quest to secure an 18th NBA championship at home. The Celtics closed out the first quarter of Game 1 of the 2024 NBA Finals with a 19-point lead over the Dallas Mavericks, and never looked back, eventually winning the game 107-89.

Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 31 points, while Jaylen Brown added 25 points. Kristaps Porzingis led the Mavericks with 21 points, but it was not enough to overcome the Celtics' balanced attack.

The Celtics were in control from the start, taking an early 10-0 lead and never trailing in the game. They shot 50% from the field and 40% from three-point range, while the Mavericks shot just 38% from the field and 29% from three-point range.

The Celtics also dominated the boards, outrebounding the Mavericks 50-33. They also had 20 assists to the Mavericks' 11.

The win gives the Celtics a 1-0 lead in the series. Game 2 will be played in Boston on Sunday.
