How to Remove Acrylic Nails at Home Without Damaging Your Natural Ones
Step 1: Gather Your Materials
Before you begin, you'll need to gather a few supplies:
- Cotton pads or balls
- Tin foil
- Acetone nail polish remover
- Nail file
- Cuticle pusher
- Orange stick or cotton swab
Step 2: Cut the Cotton and Tin Foil
Cut the cotton pads into small pieces, enough to cover each nail. Cut the tin foil into 10 strips, large enough to wrap around each nail.
Step 3: Soak Your Nails
In a small bowl, pour enough acetone nail polish remover to cover your nails. Soak your nails for 10-15 minutes, or until the acrylic starts to lift away from your natural nails.
Step 4: Remove the Acrylic
Use the cuticle pusher or orange stick to gently lift the acrylic away from your natural nails. If the acrylic is still attached, soak your nails for another 5-10 minutes.
Step 5: File Your Nails
Once the acrylic is removed, use the nail file to smooth out any rough edges on your natural nails.
Step 6: Moisturize
Apply cuticle oil or lotion to your nails to moisturize them and prevent them from becoming dry and brittle.
Tips:
- Do not try to peel off the acrylic nails, as this can damage your natural nails.
- If you have sensitive skin, wear gloves when using acetone nail polish remover.
- Be patient, as it may take some time to remove all of the acrylic.
- If you are unsure about how to remove acrylic nails, consult a professional nail technician.
