Removing Acrylic Nails: A Step-by-Step Guide
Shorten the Length
Before removing your acrylic nails, it's essential to shorten their length. This will make the process easier and prevent damage to your natural nails. Use a nail clipper to trim them down to a shorter, manageable length.
File the Surface
Once you've clipped the length, use a nail file to file the surface of the acrylic nails. This will remove the shiny top layer and make it easier for the acetone to penetrate.
Soak in Acetone
Fill a bowl with 100% pure acetone. Submerge your nails in the acetone for 20-30 minutes. The acetone will begin to dissolve the acrylic.
Use an Orangewood Stick
Once the acrylic has softened, use an orangewood stick to gently push it away from your natural nails. Be patient and take your time to avoid damaging your natural nails.
Buff and Polish
After you've removed the acrylic nails, buff and polish your natural nails to restore their health and shine. This will help to strengthen them and prevent breakage.
