United Airlines Flight Diverted Due to Biohazard
Flight Lands Safely in Boston
A United Airlines flight from Houston to Boston was diverted to Northern Virginia on Sunday after a biohazard situation caused crew and passengers distress. The flight, which was diverted hours after taking off from Houston, landed at Boston at 7:55 p.m., five hours and 20 minutes after it was originally scheduled to arrive.
Crew Members Vomiting, Passengers Asking for Masks
According to reports, the biohazard incident involved a passenger who experienced a medical emergency. Crew members reportedly became sick after coming into contact with the passenger, and passengers were asking for masks to protect themselves. The extent of the medical emergency is not yet known.
The flight was diverted to Dulles International Airport outside of Washington, D.C., where the passenger was removed from the plane and transported to a hospital for treatment. The remaining passengers were later re-boarded the plane and continued to Boston.
United Airlines has not yet released any official statement on the incident. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating the matter.
